Gump and Sisley

FAVORITED!
Sometimes I ask myself how I manage to let all of these well known - award winning movies just pass right through my life for so long. I really do ask myself heavily about it because I've spent so much of my teen life doing completely nothing!

"Seriously... How do I manage? ... ... "

So as you've probably figured, I've just watched Forrest Gump completely for the first time in my deprived life. And for the first time, in a long time, I am in awe. Everything about the movie just hit me so good. I'm not a major history buff or anything but the subject of revolution and civil movements of the 60s and 70s have always grabbed me immensely in films like these. All of the historical moments and how they just threw Forrest's character into it was genius.
It really made me think about so much in life that I really needed to see in an example for me to finally move on from this ditch I've lodged myself in. I've been completely contemplative about so many things dealing with the future in terms of friendships, relationships, careers and just where in the heck I'm gonna find myself in the long run in terms of me and my art. Just so many things have been running through my head about it all and...
.
"I just can't stop Thinking!"

But all is well.
I've been completely and utterly moved and am damn happy I decided to push aside a couple of homeworks to watch this heartful movie (finally). I've needed to get away from all of the generic flamboyancies and comedies and watch a movie that actually hits a nerve in you.

One of the scenes that moved me the most;
"and am still getting over...ughh so gooood"
was when Jenny came back to Forrest towards the end and they came back to her old house.

"The symbolism in this was just Amazing..."

::sigh...::

Okay I'll get over it as I end this blog with a quick update on my painting project.

No more Van Gogh's "Undergrowth with Two Figures"... Seeing as I had forgotten that image at home for class today... I was forced to choose a new one to be productive with class time. Which throughout time failing to paint the sky with the original subtlety because of my lack of color mixing abilities in acrylics as of yet, became more advantageous and preferable. But here's my new project study;

"Flood at Port Marley" by Alfred Sisley

I've really began to fall in love with this piece myself mainly because of the browns and blues he used. I've always been attracted to light and stand out color combinations and this one just catches my eye the way I like it.
As a performance update seeing as I can't seem to find my digital camera, my rendition looks somewhat like that just... really... freaking obnoxious and too many extra strokes.

::grumbles::

If you don't know him like I don't...
Here's a link to a site with some information on Sisley.
